Campus Resources

APIMEDA Programs and Services is inherently based on coalition building and an intersectional framework to support the holistic development of UC San Diego students.  We recognize that students hold a variety of different identities with different needs and encourage you to utilize a variety of resources to support you throughout your time at UC San Diego. We hope that you take the time to familiarize yourself with them!  Below is a non-exhaustive list of some of the many resources that our community utilizes frequently.

Academic Support & Research

  • Academic Internship Programs (AIP)
    • Connecting students with opportunities to explore careers, engage in the community, and enrich their education through experiential learning.
  • Undergraduate Research Hub (URH)
    • URH empowers undergraduates seeking to become integrated in the UC San Diego research community with the skills to be successful in a post-baccalaureate career.
  • Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Studies Program
    • Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Studies Program is intended for students with various academic interests and career goals. Its curriculum focuses on the complex social, cultural, political, literary, artistic, and historical aspects of Asian American and Pacific Islander life.
  • Jacobs School of Engineering IDEA Center
    • The IDEA Center's mission is to foster an inclusive and welcoming community, increase retention and graduation rates, and promote a sustainable culture of academic excellence among all engineering students at UC San Diego.
  • Office for Academic Support and Instructional Services (OASIS)
    • The mission of OASIS is to facilitate the holistic enrichment of UC San Diego students through community-based, and culturally responsive mentoring, academic support, and professional development.
  • Student Success Coaches
    • The Student Success Coaching Program facilitates the transition and promotes the success of a cohort of incoming and continuing first-generation college students at UC San Diego.  Their Success Coaches work with students to develop the skills necessary to be successful at UC San Diego.

Campus Community Centers

  • Black Resource Center (BRC)
    • The Black Resource Center (BRC) serves everyone at UC San Diego while emphasizing the Black experience.  They promote scholarship, foster leadership, and cultivate community for students through the committed, collaborative effort and support of faculty, staff, and the broader UC San Diego community.
  • Cross Cultural Center
    • The Cross-Cultural Center (CCC) provides a place of belonging and validation for underrepresented and underserved students, staff, and faculty. The center also builds critical engagement and learning about diversity and social justice at UC San Diego.
  • Intertribal Resource Center
    • The Intertribal Resource Center (ITRC) is dedicated to creating a welcoming space on campus and a supportive community for Native American students, faculty and staff by offering academic support, cultural awareness programs and social activities.
  • Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) Resource Center
    • The Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) Resource Center is a diverse and inclusive public space for all members of the campus community to explore issues relating to sexual and gender identities, practices and politics.
  • Raza Resource Centro
    • The Raza Resource Centro is a space for all to converse and connect around intersectional Chicanx Latinx identities, Latinidad and cultura. Comunidad is cultivated through murals, a vibrant community space and interactive learning opportunities.
  • Women's Center
    • The Women’s Center serves as a resource for the entire campus community while focusing on the experiences of diverse women. The center provides education and support regarding gender issues.

Health & Well-Being

  • Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) 
    • High quality, culturally-sensitive, and confidential counseling services, including individual, couples, family and group counseling, crisis/urgent care interventions, and referral services FREE of charge.
  • Student Health Services 
    • Provides quality primary medical care, including urgent care and support services such as laboratory, pharmacy, and x-rays. 
  • The Zone 
    • The Zone is a lounge for student well-being designed to promote healthy, balanced living to UCSD students.
  • UCSD Center for Mindfulness 
    • The Center offers a broad range of mindfulness-based programs and initiatives. Whether your interest in mindfulness is personal or professional, on behalf of a young family member or your workplace, or if you are just curious about what it is, you are invited to explore their online home. 
  • UCSD Health Library 
    • Offers access to a range of topics on health and wellness. 
  • UCSD Recreation 
    • Classes and programs to help you get fit, have fun, learn new skills - with skilled instructors 

General Support Services

  • CARE at the Sexual Assault Resource Center 
    • The UC San Diego confidential* advocacy and education office for sexual violence and gender-based violence (dating violence, domestic violence, stalking). 
  • Office for Students with Disabilities 
    • Determines eligibility for modifications, adjustments, and other accommodations for students and dependents who have disabilities. 
  • Student Legal Services
    • Student Legal Services (SLS) provides services including free counseling, education programs, referrals, and more to registered UCSD undergraduate and graduate students, and to student organizations.
  • The Hub 
    • Provides access to nutritious food, affordable & emergency housing, financial resources, and more. 
  • Triton Food Pantry 
    • Provides a discreet service to UCSD students in need of food. 
  • Triton Transfer Hub
    • Transfer Student Success provides resources, services, and programs to empower Triton Transfers to achieve their goals as they navigate UC San Diego's academic and cultural landscape. They assist students in their transition through active engagement in opportunities that support their paths and build community so they thrive academically, professionally, and personally. They support the campus community to share knowledge and implement proven promising practices to support transfer student experiences.
  • UCSD Center on Gender Equity and Health 
    • An organization dedicated to building awareness, research, and action on the equitable treatment of women and girls as a means of improving the health of populations globally.
  • Undocumented Student Services
    • Undocumented Student Services is committed to serving undocumented students at UC San Diego through a holistic approach that encompasses personal guidance, immigration legal services, community building, partnerships, and referrals.  Their programs and services are designed to help students overcome obstacles that arise from their immigration status and support them through personal and academic excellence.
  • UC Immigrant Legal Services Center (UCIMM)
    • UCIMM serves the immigration-related legal needs of undocumented and immigrant UC students and their immediate family members, as well as family members of U.S. citizen UC students. Their Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) Awareness Campaign aims to inform students about eligibility requirements and the application process for obtaining a work permit as well as lawful permanent immigration status.
